21.03.2022 Head down the rabbit hole and step into ‘Easter in Wonderland’ at Castle Square in Elephant and Castle
- Londoners are invited to go down the rabbit hole on 16 April, and join a Tea Party with the Mad Hatter and the White Rabbit for chocolatey treats and selfies
- Workshops will be FREE to take part in including bunting making and biscuit decorating in the shapes of mushrooms, castles and elephants
- Bag yourself a prize from the Mad Hatters to use at one of the traders of Castle Square
- There will be lots of music and performances from local community groups throughout the day
Join us on Saturday 16th April from 11am-5pm at Castle Square in Elephant and Castle for a FREE Easter in Wonderland event for friends, family and the local community to celebrate the Easter long weekend, inspired by the fairytale Alice in Wonderland.
Follow us down the rabbit hole to find Castle Square transformed into a Wonderland filled with plenty of activities, workshops, performances, music and food for all ages to get stuck into. Visitors will also be able to visit the Rabbit Hole (or an Instagrammable Easter in Wonderland themed dome) to join the White Rabbit Easter Bunny and Mad Hatter for a tea party and take a selfie!
You will not want to miss the Mad Hatter, who will be giving out ‘Eat me’, ‘Drink me’ and ‘Treat me’ vouchers to exchange with the traders of Castle Square. The vouchers will include a variety of sweet and savoury treats ranging from Hot Chocolate’s from Coma Y Beba to popcorn from Ayca Sweet and Nuts. The ‘Treat Me’ vouchers will be worth £10 to spend amongst a range of traders in Castle Square! There will also be lots of chocolate up for grabs, for those who are brave enough to follow the Easter Bunny down the rabbit hole into the Wonderland dome!
Throughout the day, there will also be activities and workshops for the whole family to try, all inspired by Alice in Wonderland. This will include fairytale face painting, bunting making, and biscuit decorating workshops where you will be able to decorate your mushroom, elephant or castle shaped biscuits to take home or eat on the day.
Along with sweet treats and workshops, from 12pm there will be a whole lineup of performances from the Elephant and Castle Community Hub Choir, Frogprince Kids Music Concert, Upside Down Street Dance and SuperArts Dance Academy to celebrate the Easter festivities.
As well as the Easter in Wonderland event, there are also a host of free activities for the community throughout the month both online and offline at the Elephant and Castle Community Hub. Such as Frogprince Baby Music who is hosting their sessions at Castle Square’s neighbour Mercato Metropolitano. Locals can spend their time learning, doing arts & crafts, fitness classes, yoga and more. All events are FREE to enjoy and you can see the full timetable here.
