04.10.2021 Great day out at Castle Square’s first birthday

Last weekend the Elephant and Castle Town Centre team took part in a wide array of exciting festivities to mark the first birthday of the retail destination, Castle Square.

In partnership with Fusion de los Pueblos, the birthday party on Saturday 25 September sought to celebrate not only a year since traders moved in, but also the diversity of our local community, coinciding with Latin American Heritage month.

Dancing, music, food, and lots of great community events brought a great buzz to Elephant and Castle on the day. Our jam-packed schedule saw people come from far and wide to join in with workshops and sample the delicious local cuisine.

We had talented local groups perform folk music and dance from all corners of Latin America and the Caribbean, and there were plenty of opportunities for visitors to put on their dancing shoes at workshops in the square throughout the day.

Five traders also dished out some free samples, giving out tasty bites from Kaieteur Kitchen Original, Original Caribbean Spice, El Guambra, Coma y Beba and to top it off, some sweet treats from Ayca Sweets & Nuts. Visitors could also take advantage of great discounts of food and shopping throughout the day.

It was great to see so many familiar faces celebrating with us. Take a look at some of our photographs to relive your favourite moments, and keep an eye out for some videos of the day on our Instagram @castlesquarelondon

We can’t wait to see you down at Castle Square again soon!
