02.03.2021 Elephant & Castle’s Virtual Community Hub brightens up the next month with a fun-filled line-up of events and activities

With Spring just around the corner, and the lighter days lifting Londoner’s spirits, Elephant and Castle’s Virtual Community Hub is offering a fun-filled line-up of free virtual events to support and entertain at home. From comedy nights to home workouts, and creative classes to self-care workshops, there is something for every member of the family!

Elephant & Castle is bringing the laughter into your home, with a virtual Comedy Night for the community on Sunday 21 March at 7pm. Expect to see local comedians, a laughter workshop, Comedy Quiz and for those who are feeling particularly brave – an opportunity to share a few jokes on the open mic.

For the young creatives, the Community Hub will continue to offer free virtual arts and crafts workshops – Kid’s Creation Station-Live Sessions every Thursday and Children’s Online Activity Workshops every Saturday. This month, kids will get the chance to take a ‘trip’ to the South Pole, try some different ways of painting and colour mixing, make flowers for Mother’s Day, create a greenhouse to grow seeds and decorate Easter cards. And for the parents, there is an adults-only craft session every Wednesday throughout March.

Keeping fit and healthy is key throughout the last few months of lockdown, so Disability Sport Coach has teamed up with the Virtual Community Hub to host their Live Sessions. Held Tuesday – Saturday, Community Hub visitors can stay active even when they’re at home.

Each Thursday, the Hub is also hosting a Re-tribe Workshop, an online series of self-care workshops to offer people a unique virtual space to connect with like-minded adults and participate in the activities available such as guided meditation, breathwork and grounding techniques.

Further activities continue to run on Elephant and Castle’s Virtual Community Hub, such as DanceBeatz Live and Silverfit dance classes taking place on a weekly basis, a Monday morning programme filled with wellness activities, Frogprince Baby music live (which has seen over 2,000 views) and Easy Cooking recipe videos for you to follow along to make the most of your home cooking.
