WHY ARE THESE WORKS TAKING PLACE AT NIGHT?

The scaffold erection works has to take place out of normal site working hours for safety reasons, due to the proximity of railway infrastructure. This is to ensure that no passenger trains are affected by the works as well as mitigating visual distraction issues to the train drivers.

WHY ARE THESE WORKS REQUIRED?

In order to carry out the demolition an encapsulation protection scaffold is required to enclose the work area, as a screen, to mitigate the impact of noise, dust or any potential debris on Platform 1 and the operational railway. This scaffold is also to shroud any potential visual impact or distraction to train drivers of the demolition activities themselves.
