11.10.2024 GET LIVING SHARES UPDATED PLANS TO ENHANCE WEST SITE OF ‘THE ELEPHANT’

Following a first round of public consultation in July this year, which saw over 200 members of the local community attend, Get Living have further developed their plans in response to stakeholder and community feedback. The proposals are set to improve and diversify the masterplan for a better resident and visitor experience while reducing environmental impact, and form part of Get Living’s redevelopment of Elephant and Castle Town Centre

The updated proposals include:

  • an increase of 9 homes on the previous proposals bringing the total to 507 homes across the two towers and the mansion blocks
  • a one storey reduction in height of both towers one and two
  • enhanced landscaping and additional greenery with the creation of a tree canopy throughout the public spaces
  • upgrades to the link between Elephant and Castle and the extended Pastor Street, as well as improvements to the new public route to the north of the Tabernacle
  • improved setting of the cultural venue with a new civic arrival space welcoming visitors to the new venue

Get Living invites members of the local community to view the developing vision for the West Site and provide feedback and input on the initial designs.

Two drop-in sessions will be held at The Castle Centre, which will be an opportunity to meet with members of the development and design team on a one-to-one basis. A webinar will also be hosted for those who can’t attend either of the drop-in sessions.
