08.07.2024 Elephant and Castle Careers Fair 2024

The Elephant and Castle Town Centre team hosted a Careers Fair for the second year running on Thursday 27th June. This year’s fair was organised in conjunction with Southwark College and the Mayor of Southwark, Cllr Naima Ali, and was hosted at Southwark’s College main campus on The Cut.

This year’s Careers Fair was a fantastic success, with more than 500 local school students, college students, and members of the community attending to find out about opportunities for new careers, apprenticeships and training opportunities in Southwark and across London.

In total, more than 30 exhibitors attended from a variety of sectors such as engineering, public services, health and social care, construction and property services, and science. In addition, attendees to the event were able to join one of the many workshops on offer on the day, which included a tower building competition to demonstrate the principles of engineering, a workshop on the British space and rocketry sector, and a session on cybersecurity and IT services.

Attendees to the Careers Fair were also treated to a guest appearances from the Mayor of Southwark, Cllr Naima Ali; the Labour parliamentary candidate for Bermondsey and Old Southwark, Neil Coyle; and the Labour parliamentary candidate for Peckham, Miatta Fahnbulleh.
