Planning application submission statement

A spokesperson for Delancey said:

“Following a great deal of careful work and extensive consultation with local stakeholders and Southwark Borough Council, we are pleased to have submitted an outline planning application to create a new town centre for Elephant and Castle. If approved, the plans could bring a cultural and commercial focal point to the heart of the area, with an integrated campus for London College of Communication (LCC), part of University of Arts London (UAL). The designs also include a new 1,000 seat multi-screen cinema, a grass-roots music venue for an audience of 500, over 1,000 homes to rent for Londoners and a new entrance and ticket-hall for the Northern Line. The aim for the proposals is to create a “must-visit” destination for London, with an impressive combination of national and independent London based shops, bars, cafes and restaurants, interspersed between 108,000 sq ft of new and accessible public space and improved pedestrian routes through the area.”
